YAM Mission Statement

The mission of the Young Adult Ministry is to recruit, reclaim, and retain young adults into the Body of Christ by embodying Christian maturity, forgiveness, evangelism, engagement, selfless service, and exalting Christ through word and deed.

History

​God placed in the heart of four individuals to reach out to young adults who have left the church or who desired a closer relationship with the Lord. The founders of the Young Adult Ministry are Amber Tyler, Glennda Bivens, Jonathan Vann and Joy Morgan. As evidence of the all powerful purpose and plan of God, Glennda and Jonathan developed workshops and curriculum centered on topics that are relevant to Young Adults. Unknowing of Glennda and Jonathan's efforts, Amber and Joy focused on fun activites, fellowshipping and Christian alternatives that would spark the interest of Young Adults. God’s full plan was put together after much prayer and supplication. Both groups were united with the revelation received from God that produced what YAM is today. 

YAM was established, accepted, and recognized as a National Auxiliary, on a pilot basis, during the National Convention of The Church of the Living God, in the year of 2009. YAM serves as a teaching, learning, fellowshipping, fun, and support ministry for young adults between the ages of 18-35. 

YAM serves and meets the needs in the capacities of:

·         Life principles
·         Utilizing and developing spiritual gifts
·         Financial literacy
·         Transitioning into ministry
·         Importance  of fellowshipping and building healthy relationships
·         Mentoring 

It is our belief that by completing this criteria we will fulfill God's purpose for the Young Adult Ministry.
